2015 MLB All-Star Starters Announced

2015_MLB_All-Star_Game_logoThe starters have been selected for the 86th All-Star Game being held at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 14th. The defending American League champions will be well represented in Cincinnati with four Royals (Salvador Perez, Alcides Escobar, Lorenzo Cain, and Alex Gordon) being selected to the All-Star team. The four starters is a club record, passing the 1979 team that had three players (Frank White, Darrell Porter, George Brett) selected to the team. The other starters in the American League are Miguel Cabrera (Detroit Tigers), Jose Altuve (Houston Astros), Josh Donaldson (Toronto Blue Jays), Mike Trout (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim), and Nelson Cruz (Seattle Mariners).

In the National League the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins each had two starters elected this year. Jhonny Peralta and Matt Holiday from the Cardinals and Dee Gordon and Giancarlo Stanton from the Marlins. The other starters are Buster Posey (San Francisco Giants), Paul Goldschmidt (Arizona Diamondbacks), Todd Frazier (Cincinnati Reds), and Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals).

I will be creating some custom all-star cards after the game is completed, so I can use photos from the actual game. Here are my 2014 All-Star Game Commemorative Cards. Not sure if I will stay with the same design (which I really like!) or another design from a past all-star card or possibly create a custom one, we will see. If you have a suggestion on the style I would love to hear from you. Post it in the comments!
